Use concrete imagery: Avoid abstract imagery and pay attention to the concrete details of people, place and things in your poem. You should always describe anything using your five senses: smell, taste, touch, sight and sound. By using such concrete imaginations, the people reading your poetry will be immersed in the world of your poetry and for them, these fantasies will come alive. [11]
For example, instead of giving a brief description of your feelings or pictures, try to use concrete words for them. Instead of writing “I am very happy,” use concrete words such as “the whole room shines brightly with my one smile” to formulate concrete imaginations on your behalf.
