I have done my BSc from Biotechnology and am doing MSc in Clinical Research from Bengaluru. Tell us about the future in this area.
Anil Kumar, Jharkhand
After China, India is the second country from where clinical researchers are outsourced. There is pressure on large companies in many countries of the US and European Union to reduce the expenditure on research and development, so biotech and pharma companies are outsourcing their work in India on a large scale.
By doing this, their expenditure is being reduced by 30-50 percent. Since Indians also have a good grasp on English, India is creating new dimensions in the field of research and development day by day. In addition to data management for clinical trials, outsourcing is also done for the manufacture and study of toxic slides by pharma companies.
Presently, about 120 clinical trials, 50 NIAT trials and 30-40 trials are being carried out in India. Anyway, the clinical research industry still needs a large number of CR professionals.
I passed class XII examination with Commerce subject with 75 per cent marks. But I have now come to know that it is necessary to be a science student to go to the Merchant Navy. I am trying to pass science exams from XII through National Institute of Open Schooling. Will its certificate be valid in other courses or companies?
According to the Directorate General of Shipping, the course offered under the National Institute of Schooling is similar to the course offered by other boards. This means that you are on the right track and moving towards your dream career. Yes, you also have to fulfill the physical qualification conditions. Best wishes for a bright future.
