The Gujarat government today announced that the seventh edition of Gunotsav, a government-run assessment campaign for 34,000 primary schools, will be held from January 16 to 18.
What is Gunotsav Campaign?
This campaign was started by Narendra Modi in the year 2009. At that time he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Under this three-day campaign, state government ministers and top officials visit government schools every year. The objective of the campaign is to check the level of education in about 34 thousand schools in the state. About 54 lakh students study in these schools from class one to eight. Government-aided primary schools also come under the ambit of the campaign.
According to state education minister Bhupendra Chudasama, about 4,500 people, including ministers and officials, will visit different schools in this year’s campaign. After the tour, grades will be given to the schools.
According to Chudasama, in the first Gunotsav campaign, only five schools got A+ grades, but now the number of such schools has reached 1,960.
Giving information about this three-day campaign, Gujarat Education Minister Bhupendra Singh Chudasama said in a press conference that its objective is to provide education to about 54 lakh students studying in classes I to VIII in government primary schools and government-aided schools across the state. to assess the quality.
