The 1983 Cricket World Cup was the third edition of the Cricket World Cup. It was held in England and Wales from 9 to 25 June 1983 and India won. The event was attended by eight countries. In the final, India beat West Indies by 43 runs. Windies won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Kapil Dev-led team managed just 13 runs as Andy Roberts took three wickets while Malcolm Marshall, Michael Holding and Larry Gomes picked up two wickets each.
